Adoption Process

• You can view the animals available for adoption on the Audrain Humane Society website or on Facebook at Pet Pals: Audrain Humane Society
• When you find an animal you are interested in adopting submit an adoption application. The application will ask for basic information about you and your household, as well as your experience with pet ownership.
• If your application is approved, you will be notified and a meet and greet scheduled where the adoption fees will be paid in full and the adoption contract signed.

• Take your new pet home! The staff member will provide you with instructions on how to care for your new pet and will answer any questions you have.
  
  Please note that the Audrain Humane Society may require additional steps in the adoption process, such as a home visit or a reference check.
  
  

Here are some tips for adopting a pet from the Audrain Humane Society:

• Be prepared to answer questions about your lifestyle and what you are looking for in a pet. We want to make sure that each animal is placed in a home that is a good fit for its needs.
• Be open to adopting a pet of any age, breed, or size.
• Be patient. The adoption process may take some time, but it is worth it to find the perfect pet for your family.
